Award :)

Thanks to the lovely Jenny for nominating my little blog for a Liebster award! I think it was her way of dragging me out of my blog hermit-hood. :)

I have been really contemplating my blog life lately. I do love it, and I know I would miss it if I gave it up. However, I do feel that I am failing you, my dear readers. I am barely managing a post per month! Yikes...

I need to get my butt in gear! :)

I basically just need to put it out there. Sometimes I feel like I need to have something profound to say, but I'm guessing you all would enjoy a little raw and real Megan.... in a positive way of course. :)

Like how I may have killed our Christmas tree.... I may have put the wrong ratio of bleach in the tree preservative recipe... oops... I was literally having anxiety about this!

I think we may be in the clear though because in a frantic effort to reverse the damage, I learned that by watering the tree with hot water, you melt the sap and the water can get into the tree! Common sense...right?

Our tree has taken in more water this year than any other year previously! CRAZY!

We are real tree people, and I LOVE it! The only year we didn't have a real tree, was when Bill and I lived in a tiny shoebox of an apartment and real trees violated the terms or our lease. BOOOO....

I was so jealous of everyone's real tree that year, and I burned the heck out of my pine scented yankee candles.

Are you real or fake tree people?

Finally, I want to give a big shout out of CONGRATULATIONS to this lovely lady! My heart is bursting with joy!

I know I'm supposed to nominate bloggers for the Liebster Award, and I will. :) Give me a couple days.

  1. Real tree person here (ok, a real-tree person, as opposed to a real tree-person, which would be odd)! I love our Fraser fir. I always contemplate a Noble, but in the end price AND beauty convince me to choose the Fraser. We let Clare pick out the tree this year (it was her 4th b-day!) and she found a beauty.

  2. We have a fake tree for convenience, but growing up we had real trees. We used to get ones with the long, soft needles, and I remember as a kid I used to give the tree a hug. :)

  3. We have a real tree :) I love it...had a fake one growing up. Real ones are definitely better!

  4. Real tree most definitely!!! My husband never had a real tree until we got married and thankfully has given into my "non-negotiable" request to have a real tree each year of our marriage. I love the smell, going to get it (we usually do a chop it down yourself thing at a local farm - not this year for obvious reasons), decorating, the whole nine yards. We just picked ours out today at the local gardening place and I love it already and we just have the lights on it. Tomorrow I will put the rest of the decorations on. Balsam fir - that is our favorite! I am glad you posted - I have been missing you! I hope you have a great weekend!
