The part that I am reading right now is about the cross and suffering, and this passage almost knocked me over:
I deserve a hundred times to suffer without You, Jesus, but it is with You that I want to suffer. With You, I accept all the crosses, all of them - if You will bear them with me. You can hide Yourself; You can make it look as though You are not there, as if I am bearing it all alone; I accept that on one condition: that You hide Yourself in my heart. (p. 196)
All You permit for me will be grace from You, and You will be there with me. I do not fear the Cross, because I do not fear You, the King of Love. (p. 205)
As soon as I read it more than five times over, I just knew that I had to put it on my blog. I may just write this out and tape it above my dresser. :)
I am so deeply grateful for the Catholic Church and her beautiful teachings. I don't want to know what life would be like without my faith!

ReplyDeleteI Believe in Love is my favorite book of all time. I'm not even kidding. It transformed my life in a way no book should. It's followed closely by Consoling the Heart of Jesus which I read last Lent.
