Contributing to the pro life movement

I am overwhelmed by all the support from you ladies. Thank you for all your prayers, love, and thoughts!

In my last post, I mentioned that I had an unofficial ultrasound, and it was such a cool experience. In my city, they are opening up a new pregnancy center around the corner from Planned Parenthood run by a Catholic organization, and they are going to be offering ultrasounds every day of the week. I'm so excited about the possibilities that this center has to save babies and help mothers in need.

This organization already provides great care for the women in our area, and they support them in so many ways even long after the babies are born! I got an email the other day looking for help for a single mother who chose life and had her baby back in September. She needed help moving, and volunteers stepped up to help!

Anyway, so when I found out that they needed pregnant models to help train their ultrasound nurses, I was so excited! I went in over the weekend, and I loved feeling like I was helping save babies while getting to see our little one at the same time! (I took a video of the ultrasound which I will post below.)

As I walked into the room, I was met by the woman who runs the imaging center, and she was in charge of teaching the nurses. She had me lay on the table to check how far along I am, and I told her that I was nervous, and I told her about the molar pregnancy.

She looked at me with surprise, and she told me that she too had experienced a molar pregnancy! I was shocked and brought to tears as she told me that hers wasn't discovered until 7 months into the pregnancy when her uterine wall ruptured. The cells spread throughout her body, and she had to endure chemotherapy. They told her that she could never have children after that.

She said she was devastated, and she decided to devote her time to saving babies from abortion through the use of ultrasound technology. Then, she said that she was miraculously able to conceive shortly afterward!

It was an amazing story, and I suddenly felt so grateful that my molar pregnancy had been caught early enough and that so far mine has been a best case scenario.

It was all I could do not to break down completely, and I felt like God put me right where He wanted me. Then, I saw our little one on the screen, and I was just overwhelmed with God's goodness.

In answer to those who asked, yes we will be finding out the sex. :) We will be happy with either! I had an ultrasound at my OB's office today, and the tech guessed girl, but since I am only 11 weeks, it's still a toss up.

  2. How amazing! The possibility of another girl...oh my goodness! We found out with Gavin and Georgia at 13 weeks...of course they dont have their actual parts at that stage...so the tech guessed based upon the angle of the dangle...technology these days is so amazing!

  3. Oh fantastic!! We tried to open the same type of facility here that was right next to PP (in fact, used to be part of their annex!) but apparently it wasn't God's plan. We couldn't come up with the funding and the building got rented before we could come up with it! :( Prayers for your new office!

  7. What an awesome place and yay for an extra ultrasound! Will you have another ultrasound before 20 weeks? I think Beth had an early ultrasound with JP and they thought he was a girl. I'm not sure how far along she was. Either way a girl or boy will be great!
