Letter to a saint

(I wrote this earlier today on 8/27, but I am just now getting it posted after midnight, so the label will say Saturday 8/28)

Dear St. Monica,
Happy feast day, my dear friend. Thank you for your many intercessions over the years. I know that your many prayers for me have had a huge impact on me as I grow into the woman God created me to be.
In your life here on Earth, you were a powerful woman of prayer who was passionate about loving our Lord Jesus Christ, and you wanted nothing more than to bring your husband and children to know that same powerful love. Please pray for me that I may have the same fervor in my prayers for my own husband, children, and loved ones.
Thank you for your beautiful example of holiness, and I will continue to look to you as an example of holy motherhood and abandonment to God's will.
Thank you for striving to grow in holiness, and it is because of your efforts and the grace of God that so many women have looked to you as beautiful example of Catholic motherhood. Please keep praying for me, and I pray that as I get to be another year older, I will come to know the love of Christ more deeply in my life. It is my prayer that my heart may become more like yours, St. Monica, with each passing day deepening in humility and great love.

Love,
