7 Quick Takes (vol. 10)

1. I am very particular about skin care! I always wash my face before bed and in the morning when I wake up, and I always follow with toner and moisturizer.

2. I cannot go to sleep without brushing my teeth.

3. I had a pork loin in the oven on Sunday night, and while it was cooking, we changed our minds and decided to go get something quick since we had to go pick up the rental car for our trip. I turned off the oven, but I forgot to take the pork out, and it sat in there all night long. :( What a waste! It would have made some amazing sandwiches.

4. I used a gift certificate from my birthday to get a pedicure last Saturday, and then two hours later, we attended Isabella's (from Andrew and Julie's Adoption Story) baptism so I put on my cute pointy toed black heels, and lo and behold, the polish apparently wasn't set hard enough because my big toes smudged! However, it was worth it because the baptism was absolutely beautiful! Congratulations, Bella!

5. I am very interested to attend a Tridentine Mass! I have had the opportunity before but never taken it, and now the more I learn about it, the more I'm excited about it!

6. My sister in law mentioned the other day that the Vatican is reworking the English translation of the Mass! I did a little research, and I found out that Pope John Paul II initiated this since the translations were inconsistent and very poor depending on what English speaking country you were in. So this masterpiece has been 20 years in the making, and I'm really excited for November 2011!

7a. Thanks to Lisa  and JBTC for giving me suggestions for creating a new header! I'm so excited about it!

7b. Happy birthday 25th birthday to my sister, Julianne! :)

  1. I love reading these! # 1 and # 2 are the same for me!! And # 4...I am so glad you could share the special event with us! #5...you should meet us at Mass some Sunday at 9:30! It is beautiful. I am not sure your girls could make it through the whole thing because it is an hour and a half.

  2. If you have never been to the Tridentine Mass before, get ready to get your socks knocked off! The translations are amazingly beautiful! I never prayed like that before, but I must admit, it took me a few times to really get into it. I am excited about the translations too. The Pope's book on the liturgy is in my stack of "must reads"...I'm just glad a have a year to get to it since I have a ton of "must reads" - ha!

  3. SHOOT ABOUT THE PEDICURE!!!!!!!!!!1 That stinks!!!!! Of course, it doesn't compare to the Baptism, but it still stinks!!!! How amazing that you got to attend the Baptism of Isabella! Very cool!

SHOOT about your pork loin!!!!! RATS!

#6- Our priest told us that the reason it took so long was because there are something like 180 different languages that are translated FROM ENGLISH- NOT LATIN- so they had to be sure to get it right. Seems all the third world countries translate their Mass directly from ours. To add to the confusion, there is not one form of English! There's British English, Australian English, Texas English... :) Very tricky!!!! I can hardly wait for the new translation to begin. It's going to be beautiful!
