1. Thanks for all of your prayers and encouragement lately! It is really nice to have a place where I can let my thoughts out to so many people who have either been there or understand why we are doing what we are doing!
2. Happy feast day to St. Therese of Lisieux and to my daughter Avery Terese! (When we named her, I insisted on the alternate spelling, but now I wish I would have just gone with Therese...)
3. I never grew up with feast day celebrations, but I am excited to make them a tradition in our family.
4. I bought two new Yankee Candles last week! Autumn Wreath is currently releasing its sweet aromas in our family room, and I got Autumn Leaves for 50% off! You can't beat that!
5. I gave up my morning coffee successfully as a mortification the other day! I always intend to give up things here and there during the day, but my follow through is less than stellar... must work on this!
6. Speaking of mortifications, we have decided to renew our family effort of abstaining from meat on Fridays.

Hey, I was about to post my 7 quick takes and saw yours had just posted :) I was just thinking today that we should start going meatless on Fridays, too! I grew up that way...my hubby is such a meat eater he doesn't ever feel "full" without having meat at the meal, so I need to get creative!!!
ReplyDeleteOooh..the yankee candle scents got me excited for fall! Those sound like wonderful scents! :) I love that our family is also starting to incorporate feast days into our life...we did not do anything to celebrate them growing up even though I am a cradle catholic!
ReplyDeleteI swear the reason my husband has smooth feet and great nails is because HE NEVER HAD a manicure or pedicure....I could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteI am glad I'm not the only one who struggles with follow through!!
ReplyDeleteFall scented Yankee candles?!?! What a great day!
ReplyDeleteOh I love Yankee candles and I also love fall- what a wonderful combination! :)
ReplyDeleteha ha- the pedicure comment after mortification cracked me up!
ReplyDeleteWe've really considered doing the no meat on Fridays thing. But Friday is pizza night and we love supreme! (:O) We have however given up any snacking on Fridays. Good for you, Megan!!!
I haven't hit the mortification part just yet....hahahahaha One saint said you don't have to go out looking for crosses, they are given to you in abundance. hahahaha Or something like that....That's my motto and I'm sticking to it....hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteI think it was in my personality test. It said that (and I've always said) I don't live up to my potential...Ugh, so true! ;(
