Enable him to stand for what he knows is right and not waver under pressure from the world. Don't let him be a man who is 'always learning and never able to come to a knowledge of the truth' (2 Timothy 3:7). Give him, instead, a teachable spirit that is willing to listen to the voice of wisdom and grow in Your ways.
Make him a man who live by truth. Help him to walk with Your Spirit of truth at all times (John 16:13). Be with him to bear witness to the truth so that in times of pressure he will act on it with confidence (1 John 1:8,9).
Don't let him be deceived. Don't let him live a lie in any way. Bind mercy and truth around his neck and write them on the tablet of his heart so he will find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man (Proverbs 3:3,4)."
The above prayer is taken from the book The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian.
amen! ;) Love that you are doing this! It has helped me SO much as it has helped my husband....Now I tell him I'm praying for him everyday.... ;)
ReplyDeleteSo since I am going to be out of work for the 4-6 weeks out of my surgery, I will have more time on my hands to read...instead of grade papers:) So I am purchasing this book, along with a few others, and going to pray out of it daily:) THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteI am not married but as I started to read this, I quickly changed my mindset into prayer mode and prayed this for my future husband. I love this! I think I might even get this book as many people have told me "don't wait around to start living your vocation, if God is calling you to marriage, live out that vocation now as much as possible"
